Join Us at Meeting Your Ancestors: November 1, 2026
A gathering and inaugural fundraiser for River Valley Community Death Care
To be held at Menomonie Market and Food Co-Op in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, from 1:00-5:00 PM.
Come together to share something about a special ancestor - however you define ancestor. Bring a photo or other item, wear something meaningful, tell your story and listen to others tell theirs. Make something small to take home. Enjoy snacks, warm beverages, and a meal - all on a day when many people believe the veil between the spiritual world and physical world is the thinnest. Our dead are just over there, on the other side of the veil.
This is a ticketed event, and tickets may sell out. Register early for best price.
River Valley Community Death Care is Here in West Central Wisconsin
We are a growing community of end-of-life doulas, funeral directors, sacred deathcare coaches, hospice staff, reiki guides, social workers, massage therapists, nurses, spiritual directors, grief workers, Threshold singers, community members, family members, friends and neighbors.
We are working together to improve end of life care in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, Bloomer, Osseo, Black River Falls, Arcadia, Hudson, and adjacent communities in West Central Wisconsin.
We support open conversations about death, making space to listen to each other, and to learn.
By normalizing conversations around death and dying, we can lessen the taboo that surrounds such matters. Talking about death does not make death happen. But it does remind us that our time in our physical bodies is finite. It gives us time to have conversations when we are healthy so that our families, friends, and healthcare team know what is important to us, and what we would want to happen if we cannot speak for ourselves.

Offers Two Death Cafes and a Community Conversation Every Month
Every month, we offer FREE opportunities to gather, learn, and build a community. We generally serve light refreshments at these community events.
1st Tuesday of most months: Eau Death, A Death Cafe at the L.E. Phillips Library in Eau Claire, WI at 6:00 PM. Open forum. Not a grief group.
2nd Tuesday of most months: Monthly Community Conversations about Death at the L.E. Phillips Library in Eau Claire, WI at 6:00 PM. Topic changes monthly. Format is presentation plus time for sharing.
3rd Thursday of most months: Chippewa Falls Death Cafe at the Chippewa Falls Public Library in Chippewa Falls, WI at 5:00 PM. Open forum. Not a grief group.

River Valley Community Death Care is
Developing End-of-Life Doula Training for Wisconsin Residents
River Valley Community Death Care is working on creating our own end-of-life doula training program to serve West Central Wisconsin and beyond. These will be live classes that train you to be a NEDA Proficient End-of-Life Doula.
Whether you want to take care of your family or open a business, our training will give you the tools you need. Plus, you will quickly become part of a community of end-of-life doulas, sacred deathcare guides, and others working in the end-of-life space.
Program training fees will stay in our community and support the operations and mission of River Valley Community Death Care, a 501(c)(3) organization.
