About River Valley Community Death Care
River Valley Community Death Care (RVCDC) was founded in 2024 by a small group of friends residing in West Central Wisconsin.
Through personal and professional experience, we recognize that many people are unaware of the wide array of choices available to them at end-of-life. In addition, many in our community are unprepared for their own death or the death of a loved one. We are seeking to change that paradigm through education, community, and support.
Our founding members include Deirdre Jenkins (Conscious Dying Facilitator, Death Doula), Carly Gaytan (Funeral Director, End-of-Life Doula), Martha Nieman (Certified Nurse-Midwife, Retired Hospice Nurse, Sacred Dying Coach), and Dawn Briskey (End-of-life Doula, Life Planning Doula).
Education Through RVCDC
Death cafes, book studies, workshops, events: our community members create ways for individuals to gather, share, and learn. Check out our calendar of upcoming events to see where you can connect with us.
Building Community in West Central Wisconsin
Building community is at the heart of our work. We seek to connect neighbors, families, and individuals, fostering a network of support that helps everyone navigate end-of-life challenges with grace and understanding. Sign up for our newsletter to learn how to become part of our community.
Support RVCDC
To expand our reach and our ability to offer more programming and focus, we will be filing for 501(c)3 status. We are already incorporated in the State of Wisconsin as a nonprofit organization. We seek donations to help us with the operational expenses of fully establishing our organization and hiring staff to coordinate events, provide programming, and more. You can support us on Venmo at #RVCDC (River Valley Community Death Care).
